Buffalo Plastering's sculptors are able to create a variety of architectural elements and sculptures. Our company's ability to replicate most surfaces makes us ideal for building restoration projects. From churches to theatres, many of the country's most noted historical places have benefitted from Buffalo Plastering's talents. Elegant domes and crown moldings add sophistication, creating an appreciation for a room in its entirety. Elements such as custom range hoods, columns, and balustrades create a unique look for any space they occupy. Buffalo Plastering has mastered the art of replicating custom sculpture from images and new drawings.
Allendale Theatre
Built in 1913, Allendale Theatre is part of the historic Allen Street. Modeled after the Neoclassical Revival Period, with its gold-trimmed walls, leaded glass windows, and dome ceiling, the theatre is a beautiful piece of architecture. Although it thrived in the first half of the twentieth century, age and extensive water damage degraded much of the plaster work. The paint peeled and chunks of molding fell off, making restoration a necessity. In 1986 an extensive restoration project began, with great effort going towards maintaining the theatre's historical integrity. Buffalo Plastering was proud to assist; decorative pilasters were repaired and recast, and the gold-trimmed walls shone brilliantly once again.
The Allendale Theatre is now home to the Theatre of Youth, which caters to the education and inspiration of the community's youth. Following the restoration, the Theatre of Youth reopened Allendale in 1999 and has continued the use of this historic building as a venue for live theater.
